  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 12 tablespoons milk (for icing consistency)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt together.
  3. Add cold cubed butter and mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in cold water until the dough comes together.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  6. Place a spoonful of jam in the center of half the rectangles.
  7. Cover with remaining rectangles and seal edges with a fork.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool and prepare icing by mixing powdered sugar with milk.
  11. Drizzle icing over cooled pop tarts and let set before serving.
