  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 tablespoon tangerine zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the vegetable oil, tangerine juice, and tangerine zest; mix until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the batter until no white streaks remain.
  6. Pour the batter into an ungreased chiffon cake pan.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Invert the pan and let cool completely before removing the cake.
