  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with buttermilk and vanilla extract until combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped pecans.
  7. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow the cakes to cool before removing from pans.

  11. Drizzle with more caramel sauce and sprinkle with remaining pecans on top before serving.
