Old Fashioned Blackberry Cobbler

  • 2 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the blackberries and half of the sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, salt, and the remaining sugar.
  4. Stir in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and then spoon the blackberry mixture on top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the cobbler is golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for added sweetness.
  • This recipe can be made with frozen blackberries as well.
