  • 1 box vanilla wafers
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, mix the sugar, flour, and salt.
  3. Gradually add milk and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  4. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks, then add a small amount of the hot mixture to temper, stirring constantly.
  5. Add the egg yolk mixture back into the saucepan and cook for another 2 minutes.
