Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 250g sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 50g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the sugar and eggs until pale and fluffy.
  4. Fold the melted chocolate mixture into the egg mixture.
  5. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then fold into the chocolate mixture.
  6. Pour the batter into a lined baking slab and bake for 25–30 minutes.
