  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil. Stir in grits and cook until thick, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned; drain excess fat.
  4. In a large bowl, combine cooked grits, sausage, cheese, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  5. Pour mixture into a greased baking dish.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until set and golden.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
