  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with liners.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix butter, milk, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl filling.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner halfway with batter, add a spoonful of the brown sugar mixture, then top with more batter.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Meanwhile, prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
  9. Once the cupcakes are cooled, frost them with the cream cheese icing.
