  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk until well combined.
  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Allow cooling for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For an extra indulgent treat, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top of each muffin before baking.
  • These muffins are best enjoyed fresh, but they can also be stored in an airtight container for a few days.
