This creamy green bean casserole is made from scratch and features turkey bacon for a delicious twist.

  • 1 pound fresh green beans
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy, then set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté onions, garlic, and mushrooms until softened.
  4. Add the green beans, turkey bacon, heavy cream, chicken broth, soy sauce, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, skip the turkey bacon and use vegetable broth.
  • Adding toasted almonds can give a nice crunch.
