- 4 large bell peppers
- 1 pound ground beef
- 4 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
- In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and drain.
- In the same skillet, add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in cooked rice, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
- Fill each bell pepper with the mixture and top with mozzarella cheese.
- Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish and add a little water to the bottom.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
- Feel free to substitute any protein you prefer.
