Best Italian Stuffed Bell Peppers

Delicious Italian stuffed bell peppers filled with turkey bacon and beef, perfect for a hearty meal.

  • 4 large bell peppers
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 ounces turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
  3. In a skillet, cook turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and drain.
  4. In the same skillet, add onion and garlic; sauté until soft.
  5. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
  6. Stir in cooked rice, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  7. Fill each bell pepper with the mixture and top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Place stuffed peppers in a baking dish and add a little water to the bottom.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the filling.
  • Feel free to substitute any protein you prefer.
