  • 1 cup buttermilk

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onions into 1/4-inch rings and separate them.
  2. Soak the onion rings in buttermilk for at least 1 hour.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix flour, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat.
  5. Coat each onion ring with the flour mixture, shaking off excess.
  6. Fry the onion rings in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve hot.
